STREETPASS NYC SUPPORTS NICK'S MARATHON

Nick's Marathon is a charitable non-profit that seeks to help sick children and their families by raising money while playing video games - live on the net - in the memory of Nicholas Capobianco, who lost his battle with leukemia in 2008. All donations will go to support Child's Play, a charity which seeks to improve the lives of children in hospitals around the world through the kindness and generosity of the video game industry.

The Marathon will also be hosting all weekend a Charity Raffle which will also be tallied to the Child's Play proceeds. For each $10 Raffle Ticket someone buys they have a chance of winning a Deluxe Wii U entertainment system bundle. You can buy as many as you like – the more you buy, the better your odds are of winning a brand new Deluxe Nintendo Wii U home console!

"We always support the community through altrustic means in the name of gaming and with a fantastic charity like Nick's Marathon where Nintendo Fans are directly helping those with Leukemia, we could not ask for better Nintendo gamers to work with" says Jordan White, Founder and Event Organizer of StreetPass NYC.

SUCCESS: Fans Show Excitementfor Wii U and Bayonetta 2 at Wii U Launch Party in New York City

###

We as fans of Bayonetta and Nintendo wanted to give our thanks to Nintendo for publishing Bayonetta 2 with Platinum Games for without the publishing deal we would have never received the sequel this franchise deserves.

StreetPass NYC passed around a thank you poster for fans to sign as well as collected letters written by fans both to express their thanks to both companies during the Wii U Launch Party at the Nintendo World Store.

When presented to Nintendo of America's President "Reggie Fils-Aime", he has announced to translate and give the letters to Nintendo Co Ltd. back in Japan to read and the poster will be kept at Nintendo World Store as a commemoration of the Nintendo Fan Community and the launch of the Wii U home entertainment system.

More details will follow as we wait for Nintendo of America and Nintendo World Store staff to figure out the details of honoring this fan run project.

StreetPass NYC wants to thank all who signed the poster and contributed letters to "Operation Platinum Love" and we will have more opportunities for fans to express their love for the new game as development on the game continues.

Date: Friday, November 2nd

Time: 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM

StreetPass NYC with help from the Bronies NYC group, plans on attending the premiere opening of the video game Disney animated feature Wreck-It Ralph despite the devastating effects caused by Hurricane Sandy over the course of last weekend.

“We feel that we owe it to the gamers who can make it on that day the opportunity to go see a film we all have been waiting to see for a long time as none of us foresaw the damage that this storm would bring,” says Jordan White, Founder and Event Organizer of StreetPass NYC. “Plus, we feel it would send a positive message to the public that we cannot let tragedy rule our lives and what is best for us is to repair the damage and move on.”

The group will be meeting at the RPX Regal E-Walk Stadium 13 lobby located at 247 W. 42nd St. New York, NY 10036. People participating must buy their own tickets and the version of the film we will be seeing is the Digital 3D version. Look for people with StreetPass Network shirts and Nintendo 3DS in the lobby before 7:30 PM.

While the film does not begin until 7:40 PM, due to the nature of the current MTA Transit Systems we HIGHLY RECOMMEND leaving hours earlier on subway or by bus.

This event's per-screening and post reactions are planned to be filmed for StreetPass NYC’s YouTube channel.

For those gamers who cannot make it to the screening on Friday and I know for a fact that many of you will be unable to, don't worry, we have a back up screening planned later in the month of November” concludes Jordan. “We are still looking into either having a second screening after our Paper Mario: Sticker Star Event, after The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddess performance or at a random free day where we all meet up at Burger King to collect more of those Wii U toys. We have plenty of events before and after the Wii U launch in November, so we are still very excited for what we dub the month of ‘Nintevember’”.

StreetPass NYC would also like to clarify that the group still plans to walk in the New York City 39th Annual Halloween Day Parade and are waiting for an announcement on what day and time the parade has been rescheduled.
