"StreetPass NYC Celebrates both the Second Anniversary of the Nintendo 3DS and Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon Launch Success!"
StreetPass NYC, a popular grassroots Nintendo 3DS fan club in New York
City, invites all Nintendo fans in the New York Metro Area to celebrate not only the Second Anniversary of the Nintendo 3DS handheld system, but also the release of the mega popular ghostbusting sequel "Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon" starting with multiple events this week and extending to months to come.
"Being dressed outside for three in a half days as Luigi for the big opening day of the game was one of the best experiences of my life" says Jordan White,
Founder and Event Organizer of StreetPass NYC. "I was able to meet a ton of awesome people who shared the same excitement for this sequel I hold so dearly to my heart and our fun does not end at launch! Our staff has come up with fun events through the week celebrating both the Nintendo 3DS Launch two years ago as well as social meet ups for the new Luigi game for all to enjoy in the following weeks!"

BABYSITTING TOOLS UINITE! -- NINTENDO 3DS SECOND ANNIVERSARY
Location:Best Buy @ Union Square (One Union Square South - Corner of 14th Street and 4th Avenue)
Date:March 27th, Wednesday
Time:6:00pm - 8:00pm
From a super crazy launch in New York to the first StreetPass NYC meet up, to the Nintendo 3DS is doomed; FAST FORWARD to past the launch of the Wii U and the launch of Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon. Can
anyone believe that it's been TWO YEARS since our favorite handheld has
come out?
To celebrate, we plan on having a mini-meet up inside the Best Buy at Union Square where hosted the official Nintendo 3DS North American launch. We plan on hanging near the demo unit upstairs, allowing us access to Nintendo Zone and a Internet Connection.
Nothing crazy. Just to meet up, StreetPass, play games, share crazy stories about the launch
of the unit (our Founder can put Cranky Kong to shame in that
department) and reflect on what was a crazy year...and to prepare for
our upcoming One Year Anniversary.

LUIGI'S MANSION: FULL MOON ONLINE MULTIPLAYER ON GOOGLE+ HANGOUT LIVE ON AIR!
For those who would like to be part of that video but will be unable to
make it or StreetPass Fans who are not located in the New York Metro
Area, StreetPass NYC will be hosting a special Google+ Hangout Chat that
will be broadcasted LIVE over the internet and saved onto YouTube.
On Wednesday, March 27th
starting at 8:00pm EST; fans will gather as the Full Moon is firmly up
in the air online to play the Scarescraper in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
while chatting and seeing each other face to face virtually.
Love sucking up ghosts, finding Boos, checking all the furniture and overall scaring our poor green friend in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon for the Nintendo 3DS? We love to play with others online, but we feel that with such a spooky game is better to experience up close and person.
So welcome to ScareScraper Saturday! Every other week (we will skip Saturdays if date/time conflict arises) we will be checking out the most spookiest, haunted places all over New York City.
Our first ScareScraper
Saturday (we had to move it from Sunday to not conflict with Easter) will be at the infamous Fire Station that was used in Tribeca for the HQ of the Ghostbusters in the movie of the same name. We will meet up to have a small tournament for the multiplayer.
You do not even needs the game, just a fully charged Nintendo 3DS or
Nintendo 3DS XL!
Possible prizes will be detailed at a later date. More
info coming soon...

Spacewar! Video Games Blast Off looks at the first 50 years of video games through the lens of
Spacewar!, the first digital video game, its development, and the
culture from which it sprang. In addition to a model of the original
PDP-1 (Programmed Data Processor-1) computer running a playable
simulation of Spacewar!, the exhibition presents 20 playable video games
ranging in platform (arcade, console, handheld, PC), genre (shooters,
platformers, action, arcade) and
developer (commercial, independent, experimental). From Computer Space
to Portal, the exhibition draws connections and contrasts between these
games and Spacewar!, signaling the latter’s central place in the
development of video games as a cultural form.
Each paid
visitor will receive four complimentary arcade tokens (maximum ten per
party). Additional tokens may be purchased in the gallery. Recommended
for ages 8+.
Admission $12 adults (18+) $9 senior citizens (65+) $9 students with valid ID $6 children (3-12)

Spacewar! was created by a group of students and researchers at the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1961, conceived of as a
demonstration for the new Digital Equipment Corporation PDP-1 computer.
The game premiered at the 1962 Science Open House at MIT, and was later
shared and modified at computer labs around the United States. This
“computer toy” influenced untold technological advances and gave rise to
the cultural phenomenon now known as video games. Among other things,
Spacewar! set the template for the game development industry and its
relationship to technology, established shooting as a core game
mechanic, and inspired space and science fiction themes for future
games. This exhibition was organized by guest curator John Sharp.
